About event

Every award ceremony relies on a foundation: an established industry, past winners, and clear benchmarks for success. Gambling streaming boasts a multi-million audience, thousands of creators, its own stars, memes, and feuds—yet virtually zero awards. Scatters Club came to us with a blank slate and big ambition: create an award from scratch, host it fully online, and do it as a world first.

‍

The Beginning: What Are We Even Awarding?

The hardest part of year one was defining the core logic. Before building a platform, we had to answer a question long settled in mature industries: what actually counts as an achievement here? "Best Streamer" covers everything and nothing at the same time.

‍

Defining Culture Through Categories

We broke down streaming culture into 10 categories reflecting real genres rather than abstract "excellence"—from raw emotions (Most Hilarious Reaction to a Win) and set design (Craziest Outfit, Coolest Background) to responsible gaming (Most Responsible Streamer) and community engagement (Community Champion, Best Streamer Collaboration, Rising Star, The Best Female Streamer). The audience validated our vision with numbers: Rising Star drew 95,886 votes, Most Hilarious Reaction pulled in 65,374, and The Best Female Streamer gained 36,952. Within weeks, these categories became the hottest debate topic in comment sections.

‍

A Digital Platform Instead of a Physical Stage

Going online was the only choice—a streamer's audience lives in the browser. We built a custom web platform handling the full lifecycle from nominations to live results, welcoming 106,000 unique users. Voting unfolded in two stages: longlists to filter noise, followed by shortlists for the final battle. All 300 final submissions were manually moderated, as automated tools can't tell genuine passion from staged moments.

‍

BY THE NUMBERS

  • 10 categories created from scratch
  • 840 submissions manually moderated
  • 282k votes cast across two rounds
  • 106k unique platform visitors
  • 233M reach (vs. a 10M target)
  • 30k views on the final broadcast

The Result

The inaugural season proved the niche was ready for its own awards. Scatters Club returned for year two, then year three, solidifying the ceremony as the flagship online event in iGaming streaming. For Mara Studio, this remains a benchmark case study in building a format around an industry's true needs, values, expectations, and hopes—even the hopes of superstar streamers who are already winners in their field.
